Yesterday, Ms. Boltie’s kindergarten class went to the Barton Creek Apple Store! They learned about making iMovie trailers, then made their own trailer. They even got to take their work home on a snazzy USB wristband! Several other classes are going in the next few weeks. Keep checking for pictures from their trips!

Mrs. Sauls' Kindergarten has been learning about ways to help the earth to prepare for Earth Day. Students used the Screen Chomp app to show three things they can do to help the earth. Sawyer tells us that three ways to help the earth are planting trees, turning off the faucet when you’re not using it, and recycling. (Just so you know, there is no sound.)
Book trailers galore!
Kindergarteners and 4th graders at Cedar Creek are recommending books by making book trailers. Book trailers are like movie trailers- they try to persuade the person watching to read the book without giving the ending away! Both grades used the Animoto app to create book trailers. They chose a favorite picture book and created book trailers for other students. Then they made QR codes that were taped to the book cover and can be scanned to view the book trailer. Since all students have iPads with a QR reader app, they can easily scan the QR code and watch the book trailer.
